In 2017, a total of 5,563 pregnant Women ANC 1 Visit were Target, 1,199 facility Deliveries were Targeted.1,201 children were targeted to receive 3rd dose of DPT-HepB and Hip.

In 2017, The Program supported 4 Primary Health Care Centres and 1 (one) Primary Health Care Unit in Rubkona County.

Programme Progress against Outcomes

In 2017 Children Aid South Sudan in collaboration with The County health Department and Unity State Ministry of Health ( SMOH) Implemented Primary Health Care Project in Rubkona County. The Objective of the Project was to increase access, use and Quality of Health Services. A total of 3,894 pregnant mothers attended 1st Antenatal Visits (ANC1).

429 Deliveries were conducted in the Health Facility. To improve Quality of care 46 Health workers attended in- Service Training.  A total of 491 Children received 3rd dose of DPT-HepB-Hib through both Static and Outreach immunisation program.

To strengthen the health system under the stewardship of the County health Department, Children Aid South Sudan renovated the office of the County Health Department in Rubkona County and Installed Solar, supplied office furnitures and internet Service, this allowed co-location of Children Aid Project Staff with County health department Staff, this further improved collaboration, coaching and mentoring.

Children Aid supported Capacity development of the County health Department in maintaining an up to date Human resource information system (HRIS) data base and strengthened health workforce planning and management. Children Aid South Sudan renovated Rubkona PHCC and Nhia diu Primary Health Care Center.

Nine (9) joint quarterly supervisory visits were conducted in Rubkona, Nhia diu, Kaljak Primary Health care and Keale Primary Health Care Unit.

Children Aid acknowledge the fact that the proportion of the population within 5km of health services in Rubkona is very low, as a result Children Aid established formal community health delivery system, therefore 2 Community health Committees were established in 2 Payams of Rubkona County under the Boma Health Initiative. Selection of this committees were done in gender sensitive manner .In addition to this 24 Home health promoters were Trained.
