About Children Aid South Sudan
Background
South Sudan is the youngest nation in the world having gained its independence in 2011 year. Given the history of conflict and resistance that led to independence, the social and economic lives of the people were adversely affected, especially, the children and women.
Children Aid South Sudan (CASS) is a National Non-Governmental, none political, not for profit Organization with focuses realizing the full potential of children. CASS contribution is towards improving the quality of life in the communities with emphasis on children and women. CASS strives to reduce and eventually eliminate absolute poverty, illiteracy and social inequalities in the south Sudan communities. To address the South Sudan’s humanitarian and developmental needs, programs like; in Health and Nutrition, Education, Protection and Gender equality, Livelihood and Agriculture. CASS main mandate is to assist Children to realize their full potential, by supporting and strengthening local institutions and community members to respond effectively to their numerous social-economic challenge

Program Overview
- Health and Nutrition: CASS strive to improve the health and nutritional status of individuals, families and communities through provision of emergency and essential health and nutritional services.
- Education: CASS work to improve the literacy rate of the most disadvantaged communities through provision of quality primary education, functional adult literacy and early child education.
- Food Security and Livelihood: CASS improves the food security and livelihood of individuals, families and communities through provision of enhanced and sustainable agricultural and livestock programming.
- Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH): CASS strive to reduce the proportion of individuals who are unable to access or afford safe and clean drinking water and those who do not have access to adequate hygiene and sanitation facilities, at household, community and institutional levels.
- Child Protection and GBV: CASS ensures children are protected from violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect including prevention and response to gender based violence.
- Disability: CASS advocates for the rights of persons with disabilities including the aged population
- Innovation and Research: CASS promotes the use of modern innovative research in order to ensure better solutions that meet novel requirements. Children Aid South Sudan also works to establish evidence-based conclusions leading to better decisions and policies that will improve the human life.
- Community Engagement: CASS utilize culturally acceptable community engagement strategies to ensure community involvement in the development and activities we do and their decision in taking ownership and making things happen and possible for them. Empowerment of individuals, families and communities to acquire knowledge and skills, which will enable them to make decisions and act on them.
- Peace and Reconciliation: CASS promotes peace building, reconciliation and advocate for justice between and among individuals, families and communities.
- Development and rebuilding of critical infrastructures: CASS has been an active partner in Return, Recovery and Resilience programming which complement its humanitarian aid delivery to support conducive environments for sustainable returns and recovery through building resilience, peace and stability through Rule of Law stream by developing and rebuilding community critical infrastructures to enable safe returns of Refugees and IDPs.
CASS’ AIM is to assist Children to realize their full potential, by Supporting and Strengthening local institutions to enable community members respond to the numerous social-economic challenges
Children Aid South Sudan is a South Sudanese national organization registered with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Reg No: 2061, with a license of operation from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Reg No: 091 The organization is compliant with the South Sudan national tax policy and certified by the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Directorate of Taxation with TIN No: 100-332-655. Established on the 9th April 2014 to respond to the needs of the vulnerable conflict and other disaster affected population, the organization has grown into a reputable South Sudanese national organization and supports in areas including Health and Nutrition, Education, Protection and Food Security & Livelihoods, WASH and social services.
Accountability: We take personal responsibility for using internal and external resources effectively and efficiently, achieving measurable results, and being accountable to beneficiaries, the communities we work in, partners and donors.
Targeted support for Women and Children: We will indulge in active social norms change programming to reduce the use of violence against women and children including the aged and persons with disabilities.
Access to basic services: We believe that by providing access to basic services such as health, education, WASH, food security, rule of law will enable community sustainable recovery and enable individuals take part in rebuilding their communities and nation in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

MEET THE SENIOR TEAM
GILBERT DRICI
Executive Director
Gilbert holds a Master’s of Science in Public Health, Master’s in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid and Masters of Business Administration in Management. A Public Health specialist with over 16 years’ hands on experience in health, nutrition and education programming in development, recovery and complex emergency contexts. Gilbert is a focused, results-oriented professional with 16 years of experience. He is a team leader with very strong organizational and managerial skill.
OKUGA FRANCO
Director of Programs
Graduated with Bachelor of Science in Public Health and with a technical expertise in project management. His humanitarian program experiences span for more than 14 years in both National and International NGOs. He has managed multi donor funding projects especially in health for examples UNICEF, HPF, MTDF, WB, DRA etc and produced quality results. He is trained in project planning and management including M&E framework for better project programming and technical analysis.
Francis is pursuing an MS in Public Health and is in his final semester
REV. FR. JIMMY MILLA AVENTORE
Chairperson Board of Directors
He has served as Assistant Parish Priest in Kajo Keji and as Parish Priest in Rumbek Diocese. With Masters in Gregorian University, with Bachelors from Ken University and Team University including Diploma’s from Makerere University, Namugongo Univerity and St Paul Major Seminary. He has excellent leadership and organizational skills.
